I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my professional journey—a path shaped by mentorship, hard work, and a deep passion for healthcare innovation.

My career began at just 16 years old in the insurance industry, where I was fortunate to be mentored by two exceptional leaders. Under my first mentor in Arizona, I learned the fundamentals of insurance, policy processing, and troubleshooting. This strong foundation led to an opportunity with Farmers Insurance, where my second mentor guided me through underwriting and marketing large commercial accounts. Within six months, I was promoted to Regional Manager—making history as the youngest woman to close multi-million-dollar B2B accounts in under a year.

After these formative years, I chose to return to Arizona to raise my children and pursue a lifelong calling in healthcare. In 2007, I completed an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Pima Community College, along with additional degrees in Accounting, Human Resources Management, Business Management, and Clinical and Hospital Management.

With more than 20 years of combined experience across both business and healthcare, including 13 years at the University of Arizona Community, I have contributed to creating protocols, opening clinics, and collaborating with JCAHO to establish one of Arizona’s most respected healthcare organizations. My management expertise spans multiple specialties, including emergency medicine, radiology, outpatient surgery, oncology, pain management, general medicine, and neurology—as well as hospital call centers, HR, insurance verification, authorizations, and billing. Simply put, there is no department I cannot build or optimize.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had the privilege of opening or assisting in the launch of 22 clinics—overseeing every stage from permits and business licensing to construction, design, and staffing. Ensuring compliance, efficiency, and compassionate patient-centered environments during such challenging times remains one of my greatest professional honors.

My journey in integrative medicine has been particularly fulfilling. Seeing innovative, evidence-based treatment concepts come to life—helping patients find real solutions for complex conditions—continues to fuel my dedication. Building organizations from the ground up and supporting patients through their healing journeys is not just my career, but my calling.

Some of my key professional accomplishments include:

  • Developing and managing complex healthcare and business projects from conception to completion.

  • Creating and implementing efficient systems and protocols.

  • Collaborating with boards of medicine to enhance quality of care.

  • Building cohesive, high-performing teams across departments.

At the heart of my work lies a clear vision: to redefine healthcare through compassion, collaboration, and knowledge. I am passionate about empowering teams and patients alike while advancing the standards of care delivery.

I welcome opportunities to collaborate with like-minded professionals to bring this vision to life. Together, we can make a meaningful and lasting impact in healthcare.

Meet me, Evin Toomey. I’m a wife and mother, a human biology research fanatic, and a truth seeker. Professionally I am a Registered Nurse, Public Health Nurse, and Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of California. I’m traditionally trained in acute care as an ICU and Oncology as well as Western Medicine (allopathic) Primary Care. I earned a Master’s Degree in the Science of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2025 with the objective to radically improve human health and the National healthcare system. I am fortunate to have vast experiences in Integrative Medicine working with Functional Practices since the 1990’s. I’ve worked hand-in-hand with the leading Integrative Medicine Physician’s gaining valuable training and insight. Prior to immersing myself in the healthcare industry I specialized in production management and quality control ensuring that products were manufactured to spec, on time, with superb quality while eliminating production line bottlenecks. This formative background gives me a skillset and framework not taught in traditional medical education. My practice is built on five pillars: Martha Roger’s Science of Unitary and Irreducible Human Beings with ethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, and justice -teachings from Australian alternative health care promoter Barbara O’neill, root cause analysis, and holistic healing. I am proud to say that advanced practice nursing is my true calling.

As a healthcare practitioner, my objective is to heal and empower individuals, families, and communities. Amongst the many hours I have spent at the bedside with patients and families in oncology and intensive care units, I have noticed a few common trends; prevention is the best medicine, chronic illnesses can be improved and eliminated, root cause analysis are essential, and shared decision making renders favorable outcomes.

With a personal desire to age well, and the objective to promote my family’s health, I’ve researched and refined simple health routines that ensure health and longevity. Ascribed by my love for people, I’ve decided to share my passion for research and root cause medicine through coaching, blogging, and quality interventions such as intravenous (IV) and phototherapy. If you’re looking to improve your health then I’m your gal!

Philosophy

The human body is a fascinating network of systems working harmoniously to sustain life. Given the right conditions, the body can heal itself and thrive. Everyone deserves to live a healthy and fulfilling life, and no two journeys are the same.
